Happy Anniversary!

It has been 1 wonderful year of marriage bliss with Kevin. We celebrated last night and went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant. Since all of our cake was devoured at our wedding, we ordered a small replica for us to enjoy on the anniversary. This is what we got....

This isn't so small. But that's what happens when you know the baker and they treat you well. Did I mention this is 4 layers???? We'll definitely have to freeze it and enjoy for the next year lol.

It was nice to get all dressed up and go to dinner. I feel like it hasn't happened in a while since becoming pregnant. Of course, nothing I had fit well so I had to go buy something. I got lucky and got a dress on sale at Target. Spiced it up with my red shoes, and picked up a necklace and bracelet and I felt great!
Here's us on our first anniversary!

Here's the picture we used to announce on Facebook that we're expecting.
Here's a re-enactment of us cutting our cake. My mother-in-law made us do this. I wanted no pictures since I was already changed into something more comfortable....
Oh well....
Well, we had a wonderful evening filled with delicious food and good company!

12 Weeks!

Well technically, it's 12 weeks and 2 days. I was busy the past couple of days with work, Rosh Hashanah, and other stuff!

So here I am. I can definitely see something but it still is looking like chub as oppose to baby.

Sorry the pictures are terrible. I'm no photographer.....

How Big is Baby?
Baby is the size of a plum!

Your Baby: Week 12

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.

New Symptoms: Not many. Mainly just hungry frequently but I get full quickly.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Not sure. I go to the doctor Monday and I'm going to ask then!

Maternity Clothes: I have worn one tank top that is maternity and just started using a BeBand from Target on a few of my smaller pants.

Stretch Marks: N/A

Sleep: I had one really great night this week. I didn't wake up at all. Also had a few crappy nights. I bought a Total Body Pillow from Target. I'm going to give it a try tonight and see if it's really worth the $50 price tag.

Movement: None yet.

Food Cravings/Aversions: Not really any. I suddenly will say "Oh I'd love french fries" but I don't go out and get them immediately nor do I force Kev. I typically can ignore the cravings and eat a pretty regular diet.

Belly Button In or Out: In.

What I Miss:
Martini's. Was that my answer last time too?

What I am Looking Forward To:
Our appointment on the 13th for our NT Scan which will be our first Ultrasound. I hope the little bugger is doing great! Also, we're announcing to all of our friends and family on Sunday (our anniversary) that we're expecting!

Best Moment This Week:
I imagine this weekend will be wonderful with lots of well wishes and congratulations. It's always nice to know you have a lot of support.

Labor Signs: n/a

Our first wedding anniversary is on Sunday and I am truly so excited. I love our life and our first year of marriage was a breeze. Tonight, we're going to a movie. Tomorrow, we're going to our favorite restaurant for dinner (Bistro 135) and we have a smaller version of our wedding cake to devour (yum!). Then on Sunday, we're going to hang in bed all day, watch football and make chili. And most likely, eat some more cake!

Back to the Grind.

I went back to work today FT after having a pretty easy Summer. I only worked about 40 hrs a week and had Friday's off ( woo hoo! ) and now am back to my typical 60+ hour week. I'm really happy though to get back to normal. I love getting the kids ready in the morning and off to school. This year A is a big 2nd grader. I can't believe how much of a big girl she has become over the past year. J is going to preschool M, W, and F so that means M and I get to hang and spend some one on one time together. At least till baby gets here.

I'm really excited to meet my new students at the dance studio as well. It's so exciting as a teacher to watch them grow throughout the year and perform on stage.

After work tonight, I have to get some stuff ready for my dance classes which start next week. I'm also going to make some dinner. Probably a huge salad with chicken since I didn't eat all too well over the weekend. Tonight I'll take the dogs for a long walk too. Yesterday I didn't feel great so they didn't get one. They'll be begging for one when I get home I'm sure!

Tomorrow is 12 weeks! Can't believe it!

Turning into Fall...

I love Fall. Like big pink puffy heart Fall. I love everything about it. Pumpkins, orange and red, leaves, fires, cool weather, the smell of other people using their fireplaces, our park while the leaves change, Thanksgiving, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, apples, hay rides, chunky sweaters, boots, warm cider, cold cider.... I could probably go on forever.

I can't imagine ever living anywhere else. My Husband wants to move at some  point to the NC area and I'm already dreading the thought of it. What on earth will I do there? I hate heat and prefer cold and it's the exact opposite?! I suppose you get used to it but all I know is I was there for 3 days and it was 103 degrees and I spent the entire time indoors watching TV.

Well, since it feels like Fall here at our humble abode, I will be starting to put up all of my Fall decor. It is 63 degrees and the breeze is blowing. I love it!

Fall cleaning, here I come!!!!

11 Weeks!

I turned 11 weeks on Wednesday and decided to start taking pictures of my bump/bloat/belly to see how huge I get. Right now it's all bloat but there's something there. That's for sure!
Baby's now the size of a lime!
Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through it. But fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds, and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future.

I found this little questionaire on various other blogs I've been reading about other pregnant mom's so I thought I'd fill it in to keep track of everything!

New Symptoms: Well I never had any morning sickness. Just a few nights of a little nausea but other than that. My only symptoms are some wonderful acne (ew), greasy hair (ew) and starting to be hungry all. the. time.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Not positive. I'm not sure exactly how much I weighed beforehand but I think it is between 3 and 5 lbs. Yikes!

Maternity Clothes: Not yet although I have purchased a couple things. I did have to go out and get a few new regular tops that aren't so tight because my muffin top is hanging out. Not attractive!

Stretch Marks: None yet. I've been slathering on this stuff 2x a day.

Sleep: Lately my hips have been really sore so it's been hard to sleep on my side. I also have a cold so I can't breathe so that hasn't helped.

Movement: None.

Food Cravings/Aversions: None right now. In the beginning all I wanted were starches but that's faded. Not any aversions anymore. I couldn't do runny things for a couple weeks.

Belly Button In or Out: In.

What I Miss:
Vodka lol and any amount of coffee. Right now I limit it to 1 cup a day.

What I am Looking Forward To:
Our first ultrasound on the 13th of September. We heard the heartbeat a couple weeks ago and now I wanna see the little lime.

Best Moment This Week:
I told the lady I used to nanny for. She's actually how Kevin and I met. She's superstitious so I couldn't tell her right away but I felt confident to tell her now. I didn't want her to find out when everyone else does. She's so thrilled!

Labor Signs: n/a

We are having a BBQ this weekend with all of our friends so I'm preparing for that. Lots of cooking, cleaning, and organizing to do!
Better get to it :)
